Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to commit to rps on here right now. Still trying to get some things under control in my life and all. But that could happen in the near future, we'll see.
For now, I've jsut graduated from a zookeeper school and am in the process of trying to find a job and jumpstart my career. We'll see how that goes.
For my ECCers: How do you all feel about starting the lj soon? If I ever decide to stop being lazy and go back and edit it, I can post the starter/opening stuff anytime....that's a big IF though xP |

First of all, I'm still working on my own customized mood theme, there's still something I need to add to it.
Second of all, I've been making several AMVs (that's really all I can do on a laptop that doesn't have internet access). Unfortunately they're all slideshows but I've been getting a lot of good comments and all about it and a lot of people evidently like it.
So feel free to check them out and let me know what ya think!:

As for my own updates, as of right now I should be getting back to FL around Labor Day. But (yes time for more bad news) the virus protection on their comp expired and we already had problems with it before so it's not to be used until we get it renewed. My uncle is supposed to be working on that so we'll see how long that takes...
And even though it's obvious, I had to add it...

The History Of The Middle Finger
Well, now......here's something I never knew before, and now that I know it, I feel compelled to send it on to my more intelligent friends in the hope that they, too, will feel edified. Isn't history more fun when you know something about it?
Before the Battle of Agincourt in 1415, the French, anticipating victory over the English, proposed to cut off the middle finger of all captured English soldiers. Without the middle finger it would be impossible to draw the renowned English longbow and therefore they would be incapable of fighting in the future. This famous English longbow was made of the native English Yew tree, and the act of drawing the longbow was known as "plucking the yew" (or "pluck yew") .
Much to the bewilderment of the French, the English won a major upset and began mocking the French by waving their middle fingers at the defeated French, saying, See, we can still pluck yew! Since 'pluck yew' is rather difficult to say, the difficult consonant cluster at the beginning has gradually changed to a labiodentals fricative F', and thus the words often used in conjunction with the one-finger-salute! It is also because of the pheasant feathers on the arrows used with the longbow that the symbolic gesture is known as "giving the bird."
And yew thought yew knew every plucking thing.
Hope that made your day!!! >^_^ |

| | Bad Boy ~ Cascada | ] | Why Asuka?
Well, for several reasons. First of all, she's just amazing and you can't argue that. I mean everything that has happened to her and she's still good as what she does.
My friends always said that if I were ever an anime character, it would be Asuka. Why? Well here's the simularites (and not all in a good way):
1. Temper: I have a very, very bad temper. I can go off on just about anyone and have scared them half to death. I get angry over just about anything and usually I'm the one instigating fights. My poor guy friends are usually at the receiving end of it, and they have to deal with my ranting and, uh abuse. (I have a bad habit of throwing things. I never grew out of it and some of my friends have had my cell phones, books, silverware, pencils, balls, and other things directed at them. And, yes, I do have good aim. ^_^) Yet, at times, I appear so cute and innocent that everyone has to say, "Awww, you're crazy. How could something so innocent and sweet-looking do something like that?" Heh, I've got them all so fooled....
2. Insults: Yeah, I'm such a great friend that I insult everyone. Either just teasing or being serious. And soon, I began dong it in other languages.
3. German: No, I'm not full german. As much as I wish I were, I've got just a little bit of german in my blood. Ah well. However, since I lived in Germany for a few years when I was younger, I do know the language somewhat fairly well. Well, all the insults and cursing anyways. Half of my friends can't speak or translate german, but they know a few words because of me. ^_^ Among my favorites (and constantly used): Beissen Sie mich! Dummkopf. Halt's Mal! Verdammt! Schiesst. Mein Gott. And several others. I sometimes speak German, especially when I just want to be mean and confuse people, since they can't figure out what I'm saying.
4. Give Credit where it's due!: Yes, I volunteer a lot. I do lot of other things to help others, and I know that the joy of helping others is supposed to be good enough, but would it hurt to praise or reward me for what I do? My mom could care less and it drives me crazy that she never wants to be recognized for her achievements. It could also be because I brag about it? Nah....
5. Other things: I don't really have red hair, but it is a reddish-brown and at times, does appear very red. In the summer, my hair changes colors (literally) and it looks red and blonde, especially in the sun. Asuka is also a Sagitarius, (now doesn't that explain a lot?) and we both share the same birthday: December 4!
So..... after my friend listed all this stuff, (and got whacked upside the head for pointing out my bad "traits") I decided to sit down and watch it. And loved it! Even though they were right...
So, there I hope that answers your question. Now, excuse me, but I have to go and kill my sisters. They went into my room. They know better than that...... *sweet innocent smile*

Well, after laying down for a bit, my creativity finally took over and I realized that I was bored and tired of my original journal. So I decided to snazz it up a bit.
I love my dog but the layout just wasn't very me. Since it's summer here (and we've already had our first named storm) I thought about doing a summer theme. That wasn't to hard to find images for, but I still couldn't find anything I liked.
Since I'm from Florida, and going back there soon, and I love the ocean, I was set on doing a beach theme. So I was scouring images on my laptop and found several of one of my favorite characters that included a beach and swimsuit thing. I also decided to completely redo my whole theme. And after tinkering around for a few hours, came up with this. Icons are subject to change, once I find some better ones for theme.
For now enjoy my new LJ theme: Summer featuring Soryu Asuka Langley. |

Also the tropical storm went right by us and we had several bad storms for a few days.
*sigh* Not really much to say I guess. I went out the other day and bought a few Evangelion DVDs. My little 6 yr old sister has been watching them with me. Since the family's here I can't stay up and night and watch it anymore, so I just pop them into my laptop! XD
Finally, it will all be over, at least for a good long while. I leave to go back to Florida this weekend and shouldn't be going anywhere else for the next few months, except coming back here to visit.
As I'm not feeling all that great, I'm back off to bed. I might be back on later. |

| This is just wrong!!!!! Damn Breed lists! |
[Jun. 1st, 2006|06:16 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | Hell no! | ] | This is in response to xxlonelypixiexx post about the pitbulls. I started to just leave this as a comment but I realized I had too much to say about it. I know the post was to persuade people to vote against it, but I have more to "represent" the pitbull's cause.
Unfortunately that law has already been passed many times in other places. In Kansas a kid was attacked and killed 2 summers ago. The entire state went crazy and has banned all rottweilers, pitbulls, german shepherds (in some areas), dobermans, chows, wolf hybrids and all other breeds considered dangerous. The only way you can have or adopt any of these is if you live out in the country (far out and even some still ban them) or on military posts.
I did a huge paper/speech against the banning and euthanization of pit bulls and I found lots of evidence against it. First of all these "pitbull attacks" that have made all this regulations are most of the time not even caused by pits. Know what attacked that kid? A doberman (if I remember right). Not a pit bull but a doberman. If you look up most cases that have made big news, most of the time it's all a case of mistake identity. I watched a case of court tv against a pit bull and it's owners and the stupid people didn't even have pit bulls! They had some other breed that somewhat resembles them. They realized the mistake too late and many pits were already died by then.
Now how dangerous is the pit bull? More dangerous than other dogs, that's true. But think of their backgrounds. They were bred to bring down bulls (hence the name) so they would have to be mascular and "mean." So it's in their blood. Having worked at a vet clinic I've worked with all of those "dangerous" breeds, from german shepherds, rotts, chows (my grandparents used to have a lot of them), pits, and even a wolf hybrid. And what were the msot dangerous dogs there? Only a red heeler, doberman pinscher, and corgi actually ever bit anyone in over a year there. There were over 10 pits during my time there.
( The solution )
Oh yeah, here's some quick stories about very "dangerous" dogs. Can you tell what breeds they are?
A. He came in as a stray. He was at least two years old and was beautiful. Jet black with a white star on his chest. Nothing was known about him, he was jsut picked up by animal control. He had one problem: intense fear of men. He would growl and bark when men walked by his cage. He never charged the cage but ran away from them. He'd let females do whatever they wanted. We brushed him, clipped his nails, messed with him, locked him up, even wrestled with him, and he was well behaved.
B. He came in as rabies investigation. The brown dog had attacked his owner without reason and practically ripped his hand off. Since they family had young twins they had to have him euthanized before he attacked again, since he continued to do it. In the clinic he tried to bite all of us and attempted to tear up his cage to get at us.
C. He was a pie-bald white/brown neglect case. He had lived tied up on a front porch in the sun and had no idea what affection really was. We used to be able to play with him, but one day he just started to change. He scratched and bit several of the techs and vets and we knew what we had to do. Humans had ruined his life and we had rescued him too late.
D. She was hyper, always jumping around and happy to be petted. Also came in as a stray and was completely black. To say she was beautiful would have been a lie to most, but she was a puppy at heart. The man who adopted her was scratched when he met her, but he just said he would clip her nails and continued loving on her.
E. She was also rabies investigation. She had snapped at her owner. She spent most of her time in her own little carrier and wouldn't come out. Finally she trusted me enough to come to cage and get petted. Her golden fur had been hidden in the shadows and she was beautiful. Later found out she had snapped because he came up to her too fast and surprised her.

| | Stray - Wolf's Rain | ] | Okay so I got this idea the other day. I'm going to make a soundtrack about my life. ^_^
Okay, okay lame idea, but one I came up with. When I was in Freshman English we had a project to do about our lives. We were supposed to write about important things that described us and other stuff like that and make it into a book. (okay so it was really just a folder with papers in it but you get the idea)
Another time we had to find poems that described us and our life in 10th English. We also put those in a book and stuff.
So why the "brilliant idea"? Well it just came to me last night. I was watching "Whose Line is It Anyway?" and they were doing one of those skits where they have an album that describes something. Later I was listening to a song that a friend said reminds it of me. And so I got this idea to make a sountrack about my life.
Each song will describe my personality, views, beliefs, feelings, emotions, or events that have happened in my life. To make it easier for everyone to understand I will even try to include the lyrics and point out the ones that fit. I've started making a list now so I should be adding more info about it soon. Look for the first song sometime this week or next. ^_^
Oh yeah, in one of my classes we had to design a cd cover. It's from when I was a freshman but I still like so I'll probably use that. |

| | busy | ] | Well we are getting ready to head back to Georgia now. It's been fun, but stressful and I'm ready to go home and get out of here. I love my family, I really do, but when you have four girls that are spread apart by about 7 or 5 yrs each, it gets really stressful. My 14-yr old sis and I are constantly clashing and even being apart for almost a year hasn't helped any. So I'm ready to leave. And the dogs are going with us so I'll have my baby back again.
Pray that we have a safe and unstressful trip. It took me forever to get packed again (although I'm used to living out of bag and everything.) but I'm ready now. It should take us anywhere between 7 and 10 hours. We're leaving at 5 pm tonight because dad's truck has no AC and its going to be cooler then. (And I have 10 Kinder eggs (chocolate german eggs) that I don't want to melt. So I'll probably sleep most of the time but that's fine with me. ^_^
TAlk to you all when I get back down in redneck country where I belong.

It will take us about 10 hours or so to get back and we're leaving in a few minutes. It's a LONG trip so I'll be pretty miserable but I still say it's worth it. After all, now I'll have acces to internet more often to talk to you all again! XD

Well I wasn't supposed to have any internet access, but the person we're stayin with tonight let me use her laptop ^_^ so I took advantage of it to update.
We made it to Kansas on Tuesday, it took us about 11 hours to get here and we went through lots of traffic and road work and more. The friend we went to see graduate now knows we're here and she was sooo excited to see us. She might not let us go back home.
We're stayin at the home of someone mom used to volunteer under. And she's got lots of kitties including 5 little babies, so I'm very happy about that.
I'm supposed to meet up with my best friend sometime today at a german restaurant for lunch, and then head over to her house. She's got doggies, kitties, and horsies. ^_^ So I'm even more happy.
I'll update whenever I get a chance |

Okay so I've been looking at that picture that CBS released that's supposed to hold clues to the final 2 episodes of the season. I've been reading what others found and decided to share what I know. If anyone knows of any others let me know and I'll add it to the list. ^_^
The pic can be found at http://www.cbs.com/primetime/csi/diner/
Things I and others have found
1. When you use the little magnifying glass thingie on the pic, when you scroll over Sara, her head is facing the opposite way when magnified. Not sure what that means but it's either a mistake or something important.
2. The bar stool between Catherine and the "victim" says CG+? (or GG+?)
3. The neon sign that says "PLAY" says "DEAD" when the little box thingie is over it. So maybe "Play Dead"?
4. Nick has blood on his neck. (OR at least it looks blood...)
5. The victim looks a lot like Brass and is that a badge in his pocket?
6. It looks like the doc has a scalpel in his hand, but I'm not sure.
Things that have been added
1. Now Grissom's whole body moves when the thingie is on it.
2. One of the buildings (I heard it was the Bellagio) disappear when it thingie is on it.
3. Grissom's hand opens.
Man even if you aren't a fan of CSI you have admit this pic is cool, although some are saying that it's starting to freak them out. |

| In Other News..... |
[May. 6th, 2006|04:17 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | contemplative | ] | I just find out something today that I would have liked to know sooner.
Me: Wow, all of your kids seem to have problems. My Mom: Yes, all of you did. Me: Yeah, I never have anything wrong, but when I do it's major and serious, like mono and the whole broken finger thing. Luckily nothing else for me. My Mom: Well, actually, I happened to think of something last night when I was talking to your grandmother. You had a seizure when you were a baby. Me: *blank stare* I what? And you waited 20 yrs to tell me that??? My Mom: Well, I didn't realize it til last night.
So, something else to add to that list:
Serious things that Trish has suffered through...
1) Flu I had a bad strain that knocked me out of school for a few days and once I got back, I had problems with my legs.... don't ask.....
2) Wart It somehow strangely appeared on my palm, under my thumb. It was hell getting rid of it, but always cool to watch and experience the freezing and slicing they did on it...ooo it was soooo cool.....okay sorry about that, but it was....
3) Broken finger It happened during basketball practice and I just thought it was jammed. So I walked around for 2 days with a swollen, rainbow-colored finger until my friend forced me to go to ER. Even then it was so cool. The doctor (whatever that branch is called) told me all about the anatomy of my hand and growth and all that.....way cool.
4) Let us not forget the strange unexplained case of mono that hit me. I never kissed anyone around that time and now all my friends/family boycott public water fountains. I think I was the main entertainment in the ER that day, after my mom and I got back up when we hit the floor after finding out what I was sick with. x_X
5) Not one, but TWO cases of Chicken Pox Yes that's right, I'm one of the few who has had the "one-time-only" disease twice, both when I was younger. The first time it never really bothered me, the second outbreak knocked me off my feet. German chicken pox was way bad......
And now this new bit of info....
6) Seizure Wow, the things you find out almost 21 yrs later......
Oh, and 3 (maybe 4) of these were spent in the ER....... yes, I hardly ever get sick, but when I do it's extreme cases of extreme stuff....
Mom's right. None of us ever have normal problems....... XD |

But, we find out a couple of things that have been causing it. For one thing, the pollen/allergy level in the area is the highest in 20 years. And the other is the one we may have problems with: second-hand smoke. She'll have allergy problems and all this for the rest of her life, so we have to be very careful with her around any kind of smoke. No one in the family smokes, but the particles from it are everywhere. *sighs* So that should be fun...... |

She's always been tiny and eats a lot but never gains that much weight. At almost 2 yrs she doesn't even weigh 20 pounds.
Anyways so we go tomorrow and deal with all this. Lots of hope, luck, support, prayer. And hopefully it won't turn into anything serious..... |

| | Engel - Rammstein | ] | Well, since my baby sister is still coughing (for over a week now) and nothing seesm to be helping her, mom made an appointment for tomorrow morning (Saturday) at 9 am in the Pediatrics clinic.
Mom is worried that she might get RSV (i think that's what it's called) again and that was hell in itself. She had to take lots of different medications and even had a breathing chamber thingie. Yes, it was a very long winter for my mom.
It's really not fair. As the oldest, I won't say I'm the smartest, but I'm still very bright. Unfortunately I have an anger and temper problem. And sometimes I can be very hateful, but mostly to family. The next oldest, my 14 yr old sister, has a learning disorder. She can't comprehend very well, and is a bit slow at learning concepts. Unfortunately she also has a bit of my hatefulness and we always clash. She tries to be like me but doesn't have my intelligence and doesn't take my comments and behavior to well. So yes, it's pretty bad. Yes, that bad.
My 6 yr old sister, who is very intelligent, used to have febrile seizures when she was younger and she can never get overheated or she could have them again. Also on lots of medication. And the baby has these problems.
It's really not fair....
On a good note:
My 6 yr old sis is in Tae-kwon-do and is sparring. Now imagine a tiny little 6 yr old (who looks like she's only 4) sparring against kids 2 or 3 times her size. That's a Kodak moment. ^_^ |
